This tiny groomer always has time for my two dogs to drop in and get their nails trimmed. They also have a small selection of harnesses, leashes, bags and such for sale. Next door is a terrific pet supply store as well so it's a perfect spot for knocking out your furry friends errands.

Quinn's first grooming visit since I adopted him. He looks great and seemed to have a happy experience. Mama was nervous leaving him, but Quinn was fine.

having had a terrible experience years ago with a groomer, i am SUPER-picky about who gets to hold a razor near my dog and who gets to lock him up in a small cage for any length of time. just to give some context...i also rarely write reviews. this said, i love downtown doghouse so so so much that i am impelled to go out of my way in my free time to put them on blast about how much i love and trust them and will recommend them to anyone, even someone with a sensitive shelter dog situation. my dog needs to be very closely shorn once a year, even on his face (his eyes are prone to infection from shaggy hair if it gets dirty) and he still marches in to downtown doghouse with alacrity. please have complete peace of mind with regard to downtown doghouse. it's not even in my 'hood but it's worth the inconvenience because of how well they treat my pup. one time when i picked him up they wanted to teach me how to brush his hair properly, we got to talking about dog care and they forgot to ask me to pay them and i forgot to offer. this speaks volumes to me about how they are in this business not as business people but as people who are concerned with the welfare of animals... i tried out four other groomers before i found dd. most places, including the big stores also teach, so the students are focusing on mastery over empathy. i understand they have to learn somewhere it's just not my preference as my dog is the very teeny and sensitive runt of his litter. THANK YOU DOWNTOWN DOGHOUSE.
